Uninterrupted Service for more than 30 Years...
CARE Chest is an essential resource for individuals across Northern Nevadan in need of medical resources; proudly distributing nearly 400,000 resources in the last 32 years. Since the onset of the world health crisis, CARE Chest changed how we serve the community to better ensure the safety and health of our team and consumers. Since that point, we have been providing our traditional programing curbside in our parking lot, in larger drive-through distribution sites across the Reno/ Sparks metro, and in 28 rural communities throughout Northern Nevada in conjunction with The Food Bank of Northern Nevada. We have learned that this new distribution model is far more efficient and safer for our consumers, many of whom are medically compromised, and for our team. Therefore, we will break ground in Spring 2022 on a fully-funded expansion project that will provide the physical structure required to permanently continue our drive-up service model and add 4,000 sqft of additional storage.

Your participation in the Community Challenge makes CARE Chest's mission possible.  Without your support, many local families must choose between everyday essentials and their health.  Your gift, your participation, allows those families to remain independent, heal from catastrophic injury or illness, and return to work and contribute to our community.

About Bill

Bill is our inspirational founder. 32 years ago, as a practicing pharmacist in Reno, Bill and his colleagues recognized a great need. Many people were going without the medical equipment they needed because their insurance wouldn’t cover it or they could not afford to buy it out of pocket. Bill and two other pharmacists also recognized that others in the community didn’t know what to do with gently used medical equipment. Often, it was being stored or simply thrown away. By collecting, recycling, refurbishing, and then loaning gently used equipment to people in need, CARE Chest of Sierra Nevada was born. The rest, as they say, is history.
