Celebrating Service

Today, we celebrate the volunteers who have committed their time, effort, and skills to CARE Chest. All of our volunteers support our mission in numerous capacities, from administrative assistance to working at the drive-up window serving consumers. All of their stories are different, and yet they’re all the same. They all volunteer from the heart, and for that alone we are beyond grateful.

PHYLLIS

Phyllis has served CARE Chest for 15 years in support of our mission. From stocking shelves in the warehouse to assisting consumers at the front desk. Phyllis now supports the organization in an administrative capacity, keeping the ship running smoothly. She’s done it all!

SUE

Sue, like Phyllis, has been part of our organization for 15 years. Sue volunteers her time helping with administrative tasks and has been an invaluable resource to our organization. She contributes so much knowledge and expertise, we are so lucky to have her.

Volunteer Anthony Cummins with Kim and Mike

ANTHONY

Anthony, has committed his time each week to help in the warehouse. Filling orders, doing the heavy lifting, assisting consumers… all of this, and he’s getting ready to attend medical school! Anthony knows the value of contributing to society and his future is bright!

JOHN

John has helped in the warehouse for many years. He works on our power chairs and scooters making sure they’re in tip-top shape. His skills and expertise help us provide these power chairs and scooters to consumers who would otherwise be homebound or incapable of maintaining their independence.

CHRISTAL & SATIVA

Sativa and Christal give their time each week to coordinate the delivery of supplies from our community partner, Sierra Family Pharmacies, to homebound consumers. They also contribute their time and effort (many, many hours) during CARE Chest events like our annual fundraiser Bacon, Bourbon, and Brews. This assistance helps us reach more community members effectively. Our partnership with Sierra Family Pharmacies highlights the importance of local business relationships and how they strengthen our community.

While their stories, talents, and motivations may be different, one thing remains the same, each volunteer is giving to their community from the heart. Their support of CARE Chest’s mission to help our friends and neighbors in need, every day, is evident in all that they do. We are fortunate to have these wonderful volunteers and are always looking for other passionate, caring people to join us.

CARE Chest was founded to renew hope and nurture independence, with the help of our volunteers, we are doing exactly that. If you would like to learn more about volunteering for CARE Chest, give us a call at (775) 829-2273 or email Kim Brignani.
